Playing Catch Up

February 4, 2010

My Wednesday involved needles, blood and pee…but more on that in a bit.

Let’s rewind and catch up!

Tuesday was another AWESOME Basement Booty Kicking Boot Camp…but this one also incorporated the garage.

Basement Booty Kicking Boot Camp #2

Walk 2 minutes on treddy to warm up

Run 3 minutes on treddy

15 pushups on stairs, 15 dips on stairs

Run upstairs, into garage, jump rope for 2 minutes

Run 3 minutes on treddy

20 stair step ups with dumbbell forward raise

20 hammer curls  10 regular, 10 cross body

Repeat stair run and jump rope

Run 3 minutes on treddy

Abs: 30 kettlebell russian twists, 15 kettlebell suitcase crunches

Repeat stairs, jump rope and 3 minute run

This took me about 36 minutes, so I rounded it out with walking on the treadmill holding the 8 lb dumbbells until I reached 50 minutes.

TRAINING STATS

146 average HR

176 max HR

Tuesday is basically my Saturday these days…I don’t work or have boot camp so I am able to relax a little plus get a lot done on my to do list.  I was able to workout, then get through some errands and chores around the house.

I cooked up some chicken for the week so I have some handy protein!

Prince spent most of the snowy Tuesday watching his arch enemy from his favorite watch spot.

Wednesday came REALLY early…3:30 AM.  We are now opening the gym on weekdays at 4:45 which means we need to be there at 4:30 AM.  Now that means getting up 15 minutes early which doesn’t seem too bad unless it is that early!

After I worked I headed over to my new doctor where I promptly got a tetanus shot as I apparently haven’t had one since I was 14 or so!  I am not scared of shots or needles, but not having had a shot in about 15 years it did make me a little nervous.  My arm was sore and the muscle hurt the rest of the night.  Then I had to do the usual..get 4 vials of blood drawn and pee in a cup (TMI hahahah).  I am getting tested for all the usual stuff…chloresterol, blood sugars, lipids, etc plus a few other things to see if the doc can get to the root of why I seem sleepy so often and why these pounds come off sooooooo slow.

Anyways, I think the doctor’s office was a tiny bit more traumatic than usual because I had been up since 3:30 AM, fasting since 7:00 the night before and was tired and cranky.  Luckily I was able to come home and take a nap before teaching boot camp.

When my hubs got home he caught some funny pics of how Prince spends most of his time.  As close to Mom as he can get.  I was NOT feeling photogenic!! Even supermodels get shy sometimes! LOL

And yeah, I’m wearing a disgusting sweatshirt I’ve had since high school.  Even my hubby who is a t-shirt hoarder thinks it is kind of gross!!! HEE HEE!!!

I’m glad it is Thursday…I’m planning another at home workout today along with some chores and then have to work a shift tonight.  Hope you all have a great day!

QUESTIONS OF THE DAY: DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE PIECE OF CLOTHES THAT YOU SHOULD PROBABLY GET RID OF BUT REFUSE?

ARE YOU AFRAID OF NEEDLES/GETTING BLOOD DRAWN/SHOTS?

Sadly, I think most of my clothes would fall into that category 🙂

I’m not so nervous with the shots (although they do suck), it’s the peeing in the cup. It doesn’t matter how much I have to go, you tell me to pee in a cup and I can’t do it to save my life… All my life it’s made doctor’s appointments much longer than necessary. :p

Right off the bat, I read “needles, blood and pee”. Sorry. I’m out! I’ll check back tomorrow!

Can’t wait to hear results from the Doc!
Not afraid of needles and my old clothes go to Goodwill. However, my husband has way too many and I sneak a few in the Goodwill pile here and there : )

I have a grey sweatshirt that I’ve had since I was about 16. I’m now 33! My husband hates it, but I love it! I just had it on this morning.

I don’t mind needles, but I can’t watch when they initially put it in. I love Prince. 🙂

I have a gross old GAP tshirt that is so ragged it needs to be thrown out! But it’s so soft and comfy and it reminds me of travelling so I refuse! I think it’s fine 🙂

I have an old swim suit cover-up that I have thrown on for 20 years….It is ugly green but I love the way it feels… I even wore it constantly during two pregnancies……. good luck on lab results…I think we are the last ones in our families without thyroid issues… It must be my lucky cover-up…
