A Night at the Museum

October 19, 2009

Saturday night my hubby and I headed down to Chicago to the Peggy Notebart Nature Museum for a wedding of some friends of ours.

Before we left I had to do a little photo shoot in the dining room (check out the new paint color on the wall!)  Ooops! The dogs just had to check out what mommy was doing!

On the way down to the city we stopped to get gas so I took a few “glamour shots” of myself while I waited for the hubby.  He snuck into one of the pics!

Before the ceremony started we walked around the museum to check it out, very cool venue! Watch out for Polar Bears and Praying Mantis!

Posing…

The ceremony was outdoors and it was very pretty…we sat under a heater but I think the bridesmaids were chilly!

In between the ceremony and reception we had a chance to go check out the amazing butterfly room. The room was warm and full of butterflies, birds and plants.  It was amazing!  We had quite a few photo ops…

We headed in for the reception.  The dinner was one of the best I have ever had at a wedding!

We also got a LOT of food.  We each got our own plate with bread and butter…I like their style!

The centerpieces were beautiful as well.

Just read this menu!! My mouth was watering when I read the food for the night

After dinner we went out on the terrace in front of the butterfly exhibit and took a few more pics..

Mike is one of my best friends in the world…I’ve know him for 11 years…I’m not sure we have ever gotten a good picture together!!  Can’t keep my eyes open for the life of me!

Time to take your hair down and party!! Two of the bridesmaids Kelli and Romanie, me and Romanie doing a self portrait!

The bride and groom looked wonderful and so happy!

Overall it was a really fun night in a unique and pretty venue.  We left around 11:00 PM since we had an hour drive back to the burbs.  I was in bed a little after midnight with dreams of my Trick or Treat trot dancing in my head! (click HERE for the race recap)
